Close to Our Arts!
Kathakali Performance - The Swan and the Princess (Selected scenes from Nalacharitham - Onnam Divasam)

18th Nov 2017 Saturday

In this edition of Neelambari’s signature experience “Close to our Arts” we will witness one of the most endearing episodes in Kathakali, from one of its most poetic tales, Nalacharitham. Hamsam - Damayanthi scenes in the first day (Onnam Divasam) of Nalacharitham enthralls laymen and connoisseurs alike. Hamsam (Golden Swan) is a messenger of love to the beautiful princess Damayanthi and the beautiful interaction between them involves wonder, humor, cajoling and declaration of her undying love for the King Nala.

Sadanam Bhasi as Hamsam and Haripriya Nampudiri as Damayanthi are both accomplished Kathakali artistes and are especially delightful in their respective roles. They would be accompanied by equally engaging performers in vocal and percussion.
